Winter Wonderland at PIR (Portland International Raceway; 1940 North Victory Boulevard, Portland, OR 97217) - Recognized throughout the Pacific Northwest as the "Largest Holiday Light Show West of the Mississippi", the 20th annual Winter Wonderland will grab your attention with glimmers and glows around every corner.  Since 1993, a journey through Winter Wonderland has become a Holiday tradition to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. Spectators can enjoy the most spectacular drive-through light show in the region, viewing over 250 colorful light set pieces and many fully animated scenes from the comfort of their vehicle. Admission fee.

Christmas Lights at the Queen Anne Victorian Mansion (1441 North McClellan Street, Portland, OR 97217) - The Queen Anne Victorian Mansion boasts the "The Miracle of a Million Lights"  $6 admission; $3 students & seniors.

Zoo Lights - Celebrate the holiday season amid the sparkling lights and brilliant hues of Zoo Lights. More than a million LED lights transform the Oregon Zoo into a luminous winter wonderland filled with moving sculptures, forests of lighted trees and animal silhouettes. Cap off your visit by boarding the zoo's light-bedecked steamer train, which provides a unique view of the ZooLights splendor.

Sunday - Thursday: gates open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday - Saturday: gates open 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Grounds remain open an hour after gates close.
ZooLights is closed December 10, 24 and 25.

Pittock Mansion (3229 Northwest Pittock Drive, Portland, OR 97210) - Portland's premier historic home sits high in the west hills, and is transformed into a holiday wonderland each winter, with period Christmas decorations, trees, and lights.  Come for the history, stay for the view. We’ll check out Pittock Mansion’s Celebrating Christmas Carols exhibit, where in addition to the dazzling decorations–from elegant silver bells to whimsical Santa's and hundreds of ornaments on more than 20 festive trees–community musicians play regularly in the Mansion’s Music Room, and will remain open thru January 1st (except Christmas Day).  See TOUR ON YOUTUBE. Admission fee applies. 11-4pm daily.


The Grotto's Festival of Lights (8840 Northeast Skidmore Street, Portland, OR 97220) - This beautiful 62-acre Catholic shrine and botanical garden is located in Portland, Oregon.  “The Grotto” is the popular name of The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother.  The celebration of Christmas begins the day after Thanksgiving through December 30 (closed Christmas Day) with the opening of their most popular event, The Christmas Festival of Lights. With over 500,000 lights, 150 choral performances, a petting zoo, carolers, puppet shows and hot chocolate, this is a special event for the whole family. Admission fee.

The Christmas Ship Fleet averages about 55 to 60 boats between the two Columbia and Willamette River fleets.  Both fleets will be out every night for two weeks beginning the 1st week in December and running nightly through December 21 annually. Free.

Take a night walk/ride during the Christmas and winter holiday season and enjoy the decorated houses and Christmas displays with strings of lights and lighted figures.
