Columbia River Gorge Tour w/Horsetail and Triple Falls
Four great waterfalls along the way, easy hike in and out, beautiful trees Near: Bridal Veil, OR Scenery: Beautiful Distance: 4 miles round trip Elevation Gain: 560 ft Hike Time: 2 hours Difficulty: Fairly Easy Trail Condition: Well maintained trail Hike Type: Out and Back Summary: The trail starts out with a few switchbacks that eventually turn into a more moderately sloped trail to the first falls, Pony Tail Falls. If you keep going the trail wanders around and then down to some more switchback that lead to a bridge over the Oneonta Gorge. Following the trail will take you to a fork that if you follow to the left will take you to Triple Falls. The right fork will take you back to the Scenic Highway. Parts of the trail are steep and rocky but overall the trail is fairly easy. 2½-3 hours have been allotted to the hike itself, and is offered year-round. Maximum 47 persons. A Trailhead Release Agreement form is required from each member of the group (see below *). Be prepared for inclement weather (rain, snow, cold, etc.) during winter time tours. * While we consider this tour to be completely safe; in wilderness areas, possible wilderness dangers are always present. If you plan on hiking on any trails, a Trailhead Release Agreement form will be required for your tour. This hike is not recommended for children or pets. This trail is not near running water, you should plan on carrying your own supply. The cliff sections are moderately exposed, so anyone subject to vertigo should proceed carefully, and turn back if the first set of cliffs are uncomfortable...
