LEAVING BRIDAL VEIL.
After leaving Bridal Veil, is the Jacobson Estate & Coopey Falls - Visible only in the late Fall and winter.
It's to the South of the highway, right across from the stone house. Morris Whitehead, architect of the Columbia Gorge hotel, designed this Italian Villa in 1916 in the Spanish-Italianate style. It is now owned by the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist.
Just beyond that, also to the South, look for the QUAKING ASPEN colony of trees, very rare this far west, and lupine and coltsfoot in the spring, and knee high Poison Oak, in the Grove!
