The familiar slogan "Keep Portland Weird" is more a description than a call to action. View up-close-and-personal weird Portland by walking it.
Portland City Tour - Walking (available Spring 2020)
Amble through parks and historic streets in Oregon's largest city
About the Hikes: Wedged between the Willamette River and a wall of steep, forested parks, Portland's downtown is compact enough to explore in 3 different two-hour walking tours. Allow extra time to stop at museums and shops, if that's your thing.

Portland Oregon is a great town for walking. It's mostly flat, and the blocks are much shorter than the usual. It has a compact, European-style layout, and there are gorgeous parks and green spaces blanketing every section of the city, a result of Portland's unconventional approach to city planning.
In the summer, the weather is usually phenomenal, being reliably warm and dry in July and August. And in winter, if you're not the Gene Kelly type, you'll find warm and cozy brewpubs, dive bars, coffee shops and tea houses to duck into on every block. But bring an umbrella!
Some of the routes are slightly hilly or include trails, so we typically stick with the basic flat, easy routes in or near DT. But still, choose your footwear wisely.
Portland has another advantage to a walker's paradise, its public transportation. You may start and finish in different locations or when you get tired out, the MAX light rail or buses will bring you towards DT from most anywhere.
Portland is filled with little nooks and crannies where locals (and intrepid tour guests) have room to hang out, relax and explore.
The Hikes:
Difficulty: Easy, 2-2.3 miles
Season: Available all year.
