Before we get to Von Ebert, we'll briefly stop here, at River Pig Saloon.
Rare Whiskies.
River Pig’s atmosphere, like Wine hard's Brewery, hearkens back to a time, when loggers logged, and flannel wasn’t a god damn fashion choice. The name ‘River Pig’, refers to the lumbermen, who worked West Burnside (AKA Skid Road), in the old days, floating timber downstream from the forests to sawmills on the river. "They were brutes, who enjoyed their booze, and good times, whom if you disrespected, you'd better be prepared to take a, punch in the mouth." This watering hole feels connected to those River Pigs.
We don't usually go inside here, because it's not a brewery, but go inside and take a quick look, if you want.

Our next stop is.
VON EBERT BREWING
Von Ebert is a large spacious brewpub in the Pearl district that makes around 100 different styles of beer a year. With so many options, their draft list changes every 3 or 4 days. Their beers are creative with options like Pink Guava Ale, or the Baltic Porter, made with chocolate, dates, and raisins. They offer a full menu with burgers, charcuterie & cheese boards, soups, pizzas and salads.
If you ask, you might just score a tour of the brewing operations. If you make arrangements in advance, they will try to accommodate a tour.
It's one of our Breweries because: Von Ebert is a locally owned craft brewery in the Pearl District.
Expert tips: Order the Volatile Substance IPA, the 2019 Beer of the Year. #1.
It has the, Oh My God, factor. It's difficult to stand out in a sea of India Pale Ales, but this one does. Again, it's called, Volatile Substance I-P-A. 6.7% ABV.
And, on Taco Tuesdays, Von Ebert has $3 tacos!
Our next stop
Our 4th stop, is your drop off location, and the end of your tour, because it's been about 3 hours.
You have a choice of returning to the Flat iron building, from the start of your tour, and Ringler's Annex, street level, mezzanine, and underground bar.
Or, you may go to old town, and to old town brewing.
Old town pizza and brewing, is recommended.
However, if you choose old town pizza and brewing, our message is:
“Old town is an urban environment, and we expect people, to be prepared for it.”
A custom choice may also be available. But let me know which one you want.
Old town Brewing, in Old Town. Or, Ringler's Annex, in the Flat iron building.
OLD TOWN BREWING, is about 10 short blocks away. We can walk, or take the bus. Your choice.
Remember, “Old town is an urban environment, and we expect people, to prepare for it.”
